Chatterbox: late summer update

The team is growing

In late May we were generously awarded a grant from Nesta’s ShareLab, which has meant we’ve been able to recruit two more members to the team. Emma, our new Teaching Development Lead, and Amber, in marketing, will be working alongside Mursal and the amazing Chatterbox volunteers, who continue to push the envelope in web development, UX, marketing, and teaching.

Technology improvements

Right now our development team is working on creating a new booking and scheduling system to make the Chatterbox experience as user-friendly as it can be, for both learners and tutors. Here’s a sneak peek of the design journey - illustrated by the amazing Dani.

Back to school

We're looking forward to offering conversation practice again at several universities this coming academic year – full details to be announced soon. Contact us if you're interested in securing this enriching opportunity at your institution, or if you’re a languages student – please drop us a line and let us know who to talk to at your school! hello@werechatterbox.org.

“A brilliant service, and really lovely tutors. I always looked forward to my sessions and they made me so much more comfortable in my speaking, Thank you!” - Charlie

Throw the confetti

In case you missed it… In July we won the Tech4Good Community Impact Award 2017! (No biggie). We are thrilled to be recognised, and be part of a fantastic group of organisations who are making a big difference in this small world of ours. Check out the rest of the winners here.

And finally... It’s time to get social

Join your fellow language learners and tutors on our Facebook page. We’ll be posting regular tips to help you master your chosen language (whether that’s Korean, Arabic or Swahili!) and updates on our latest language offers. Pop on over and say hi. We’re also on Instagram and Twitter.
